Global Leader of the Future
Building Healthy Leaders
Dr. Cathy Greenberg has given me unique and valuable insights into global leadership; insights that I have passed on to our students at the U.S. Army War College. Her experience with cultural, gender and knowledge-based leadership issues will provide today's and tomorrow's strategic leaders with very useful concepts and techniques.
h2c applies a Global Future Inventory developed by co-authors and network partners Marshall Goldsmith (named executive coach of the year by the The New Yorker 2004), Alastair Robertson and Maya Hu-Chan as part of its innovative leadership program.
The 15 key leadership dimensions of the inventory are explained in the groundbreaking and highly acclaimed resource book Global Leadership: The Next Generation. Described as the most comprehensive leadership guide of the new millennium, Global Leadership was written by Dr. Cathy Greenberg, h2c Managing Partner, and her co-authors, Marshall Goldsmith, Alastair Robertson, and Maya Hu-Chan. The book is a summary of two years of knowledge acquisition, international research, and interviews conducted in an attempt to identify the many competencies, values, and characteristics that leaders and potential leaders need to develop to meet present and future challenges.
The Global Leader of the Future Inventory is a process that helps leaders to assess their talents, skills, and abilities with regards to 15 key leadership dimensions, such as:
- thinking globally,
- sharing leadership,
- personal mastery, and
- building partnerships.
Participants at h2c use the inventory as an assessment tool, which helps them to determine areas in which leaders and/or their teams might improve and develop to maximize performance in today's global, competitive industries. Participants also make use of the Global Leadership book chapters, which not only provide in-depth descriptions of each of the 15 leadership qualities and characteristics of the effective leader, but which also offer invaluable resource sections at the end of each chapter, including action steps, additional resources, and suggested reading materials to guide leaders to success in any of dimension of their coaching goals.
